Allow the blades and hardware to air dry thoroughly.

After the primer coat then use satin or semi gloss on the blades.
The paint has primer in it seems to stick well without sanding and i was afraid it would just make scratches that would show through the paint.

Of course now i recommend taking the fan down and outside to spray the parts and then reinstall.
Clean the fan blades arms and the brass bottom cover well with a damp rag and some multi purpose spray cleaner if necessary.
You could also use a can of spray paint to paint the blades.
But i did not sand the brass.
Clear primer is sprayed over the fan blades make sure to wear a face mask for this step.
