The car here is a 2002 subaru fo. Spray on goo gone. Then pull the tape free and spray silicone on the weather strip on the other doors and trunk lid. Then i sprayed the old double sided tape on the car door with a generous amount of goo gone and let it sit for a few minutes to give it some time to work.

I repeated this process for two other detached sections and had the same positive results. Then apply a second coat to both surfaces and press the weather strip into place. Clean up any adhesive messes with the brake cleaner. Car door weatherstripping after repair as you can see in the photo the adhesive dried and the gasket is once again sealed against the door.

Let that dry completely then squeeze a bead of the adhesive onto the weather strip and the car door and let that dry. Hold it in place with masking tape until the adhesive dries about 45 minutes.
